This week, we're focusing on PERSUASIVENESS!
PERSUASIVENESS is carefully guiding others around mental roadblocks with truth and passion. The opposite of PERSUASIVENESS is RESISTANCE, refusing to consider a different point of view.
PERSUASIVENESS is the second character trait in the set called "Love with Joy".
There's an old saying, "Honey attracts more flies than vinegar." A great hands-on activity is to let kids taste a bit of both honey and vinegar. Ask which one they would rather have? Why?
One way to persuade people is be more like honey. We can make requests of them rather than demands. We can treat them kindly and calmly. When make ourselves likeable, people are more likely to want to understand us and work together.
What advice do you have to help kids learn the art of persuasiveness? Do you have a child who is persuasive in a good way? Tell us about it in the comments!
